Albums That Feel Like Summer

The sun is out, holiday is there and finally you have enough time to go on trips and hang out with friends. But one thing that we all need is a soundtrack for our summer! In this blogpost I will talk about some summer album picks and deliver you a playlist in the end. Let’s go!

Solar Power by Lorde – It’s In The Name

What is a better album to start off with then Lorde’s latest release Solar Power?

It is all about nature, making peace with yourself and appreciating the beauty of the world around you. Personally, I love to play this album when going on walks or having a day at the beach with friends. Good vibes guaranteed and it just makes you want to leave the house and go enjoy the sun! Extra tip: Don’t miss out on the beautiful music videos, they are filmed in the nature of New Zealand, where Lorde comes from.

1989 by Taylor Swift – A Pop Classic

Obviously, I had to pick one Taylor Swift album for this article (surprise, surprise). While I was doubting whether to choose Lover or 1989 in the end, I just had to choose 1989. It is in my top 3 Taylor albums for sure and it just has her classic pop songs. To me it’s a perfect sing-along album with good vibes and overall positive feel. Perfect for some carpool karaoke, right ?!

Here Comes Everybody by Spacey Jane – Bonfire Nights

The music of Spacey Jane just always gets me. There are songs for every mood and especially this album has so much variety. The catchy melodies and guitars of the Australian band just always cheer me up. It’s the perfect record to play at a little party with friends on a chill summer night. It has upbeat songs to dance to and have a fun time but also the right vibes when there is a bonfire outside and you’re having a talk.

Leoniden by Leoniden – German Good Mood Indie

The indie rock band is long known in Germany, but I personally think their music deserves way more recognition everywhere! They are definitely included in this list because I saw them live two summers ago and still think of that performance. Leoniden songs are made to be performed on stage, the many instruments make the music come to live in an incredible way. Their stage presence is so energetic, and I really hope to see them again this year. I’ll definitely have this summmer album on repeat- and you should too: )

Fuzzybrain by Dayglow – Calm Sunset Moments

If there is one thing I love about a day with good weather, it’s the opportunity to go out and have a picnic. And Fuzzybrain by Dayglow is just perfect for that! Dayglow is making perfect indie in my opinion. The bubbly sounds, guitar elements and catchy melodies just make every summer day better. There is nothing better than a cute sunset picnic with friends and a good indie record in the background.

Norman Fucking Rockwell by Lana Del Rey – Sad Girl Summer

Besides being the best Lana album in general, this album is also my summer pick. Let’s be real not every summer day is a happy music day. And for this summertime sadness sometimes you just have to put on a bit of Lana. Maybe it’s also the summery cover or lyrics like “Summertime and the livin’s easy” but this Lana record feels a bit like going on vacation and taking rest from the busy times. Definitely a good choice to calm down and have a moment to yourself this summer.

Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming by M83 – Main Character Energy

Looking for the soundtrack to your movie? M83 just knows how to make music that you feel so deeply and makes everything seem cinematic. We all deserve to feel like the main character this summer. This album is full of songs to be the soundtrack of your life, take a camera with you, grab your friends and go on an adventure. With this album on aux, you will have an unforgettable time.

If you want to check out these summer albums and get more of this vibe, check out my playlist on Spotify. You will find my top picks from each album and some additional summer songs:)

Thanks for reading until here I hope you have the best summer!
